Biñan to General Trias in 26 Minutes? This New CALAX Stretch Is Now Open
Good news for motorists who regularly sit through the south crawl: travel time between Biñan and General Trias is expected to get much faster now that a new stretch of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is open.
CALAX Subsection 3 opened on May 4, extending the expressway 7.88 kilometers from Silang (Aguinaldo) to Governor’s Drive in General Trias. That means motorists traveling between Biñan and General Trias have a more direct route rather than having to pass through congested local roads in Cavite.
According to CALAX, the new segment is expected to cut travel time between Biñan and General Trias to 26 minutes from around one hour. This brings CALAX’s operational stretch to a total of 26 kilometers from Mamplasan in Biñan to Governor’s Drive in General Trias.
CALAX Subsection 3 is free for one month
The best part? CALAX Subsection 3 will be free to use for one month. Motorists will still have to pay the existing toll fees for the older operating stretch from Mamplasan to Silang (Aguinaldo), though.
Any updates on toll collection for the new segment will be announced by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) in the coming months.

The full CALAX project will eventually stretch 44.6 kilometers, linking the Manila-Cavite Expressway in Kawit, Cavite to the South Luzon Expressway in Mamplasan, Laguna. Once completed, the expressway will have eight interchanges: Laguna Technopark, Laguna Boulevard, Santa Rosa-Tagaytay, Silang East, Silang (Aguinaldo), Governor’s Drive, Open Canal, and Kawit.
